VG juice
When having thoughts of changing from regular cigarettes to VG ejuice, probably you will be confused by all the vocabulary and what to choose and as that a lot of research has to be put in. This is especially so when it comes to distinguishing the labels, as most are labeled as either 40/60 PG/VG or 50/50 PG/VG or other combinations. But what do VG E-juices have?
What is VG ejuice?
Short form for vegetable glycerin, this is usually the foundation of what is used to fill in e-cig. It usually consists up to 80 or 90% of the mixture with the rest being a mixture of PG. However this is usually referred to as max VG e-liquids. Another combination of the same is 100% VG ejuices. This on the other hand is pure and extremely thick and provides a smooth inhale that has a lot of vapor to it and also has a slight sweetness to it. It is also good to note that VG is used in other foods and care products such as toothpaste.
VG e juices additives
When it comes to VG bases, there are usually a number of bases that are used to make it complete for use. One of the bases mentioned before is the PG (Propylene glycol). Added as a solvent in many other things, it the mixture of PG usually determines the vapor that an e-cig produces. With low amounts of PG mixes used the result produced is non-dense vapor, the reverse is also applicable. Still with the fact that PG ensures that any flavoring added becomes more heightened, thus the more the merrier. This becomes ideal as the VG produces a slightly sweet taste masking the taste of flavoring, thus PG brings the flavoring put in back. However as a starter using mild mixture of PG is advised as it can dry your throat causing reactions.
Flavoring and nicotine
Even though VG juices are practically odorless but have certain sweetness to it, there are a number of flavorings often added to it. The flavorings added are usually food gradable and as that the same that are uses in candy or baking. The amounts usually added range between only 10- 20% of the base of the e-cig as too much of it would be overwhelming for you. In case the recommended amounts seem too much for comfortable use, diluting with water can be done. However only distilled water should be used to avoid contamination that would otherwise weaken the flavoring. On the other hand when it comes to nicotine the amounts applicable, the normal range is between 0%- 2.4%. In this regard those seeking to wean off nicotine can choose not to have any nicotine while changing to using e-cig. The nicotine grade used in such instances is of pure pharmaceutical grade.
With there being an option of picking up 100% VG ejuices of max VG juices, depending on one’s allergy and needs, testing all types to settle on one should be done. This way one is assured of having the most suitable one they settle on, this is after buying pre-filled reusable cartridges.
